But if you set schedule backup and backup method, it will backup all the changed files since the last backup, whether it's a full backup or incremental backup. And you can change the default settings to any others you like.

You can choose to backup user profile in Windows 10 /11 with a free backup software or built-in tool. Since Backup and Restore (Windows 7) is not maintained and has many restrictions, such as, The drive is not a valid backup location, etc, it's suggested to use AOMEI Backupper Standard. But if you want to copy user profiles in Windows 10 to another computer or user, try Advanced System Properties to make it.
EaseUS Todo Backup is a professional backup program that allows you to easily back up the entire system or individual files/folders. You can download this simple yet effective tool free of charge and make your own backups whenever you need to copy user profiles on Windows 10.
You can use the CopyProfile setting to customize a user profile and then copy that profile to the default user profile. By using CopyProfile, you can customize installed applications, drivers, desktop backgrounds, Internet Explorer settings, and other configurations. Be aware that some settings are not preserved by using CopyProfile.
Some user profile settings, including Default Apps, are encrypted by using a hash that is specific to the user. If you copy these settings to another user profile, Windows treats them as invalid and resets them the first time that the user signs in. Windows does not support using CopyProfile to copy these settings.
You can copy a Windows 10 profile to another user in three ways. The first one is that you can create a backup of your user profile, and you can also transfer the user profile, and you can also copy the user profile, and then paste it to the new PC.
How can I backup a local Windows 10 user profile (including the user files) and restore it on another Windows 10 system?Just copying the home folder as it is standard on Linux was not sufficient. I expect one needs a tool which can backup and restore also the right parts of the registry.
After you create the profile, you can copy the files from the existing profile. You must have at least three user accounts on the computer to complete these steps, including the new account you just created.
If you are using window 10, 8, 8.1, 7 or Vista then go to Control Panel>> System & Security>>System>> Advance system security then click setting under the Userprofile and select the profile in which you want to copy the file and clickCopy to, and enter the name andbrowse the profile which one you want to overwrite. Now click Permitted to use and add the userprofile >> Ok.
You know what. I completely forgot about this. I had written this off in my mind because you cannot do it natively for the Default profile anymore and that's what I was thinking the OP was attempting. This is certainly a viable option between normal users. However, you will need to create/login to a third admin account to copy between your original Admin account and the Sales account.
The easiest and safest way to fix the problem is to create a brand new account and copy over your old files and settings. However, you can only do this if you've got another user account on the computer with Administrator settings. If you have, just boot your computer as normal and skip to Step 2. If you haven't got another account, you need to enable the hidden Administrator account.
You now need to copy all of your old data to your new account. First, click Start and choose Switch account. On the Login screen, click your new account to log in to it for the first time (if you don't do this, the user folder won't be created). When you're at the Desktop, log off and log into the Administrator account you used in Step 2.
Your user profile in Google Chrome stores data about your browsing activity, including your history, bookmarks and cookies. Chrome does not include a method to export your profile from within the program, but you can manually copy the profile data in order to keep a backup, move your customizations to a new computer or set up a standardized profile for multiple computers in your office.
To use your exported profile, close any Chrome windows and move your "Default" folder copy into %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\ on any computer with Chrome installed. This will overwrite the existing profile unless you move or rename the existing "Default" folder first. If you're moving to a new computer, you need to install Chrome before restoring the folder.
I'd like a simple command to copy a shortcut for Devices and Printer.lnk to All Users Profile Start Menu so that I can pin this shortcut to every users start menu that logs in to the Windows 10 PC at logon.
I've exported my start menu but having read up on it doesn't seem possible to pin the Devices and Printers shortcut in the normal fashion. This is why I've uploaded the shortcut to a network location that all users have access to, if I can copy this to a location on the PC that all users have access to then I can adjust my startmenu script so that it appears as a tile.
Using Transfer is fairly simple, be sure to copy the user alone and any files and place that on an external or network drive. This creates a single file (with the .MIG extension) that can be used on the target machine.
I would love to hear your experiences with user profiles on Windows. What do you use to move profiles around, create them, copy them and possibly how you might use them on the network? I have omitted some of the larger issues of profiles including mandatory and roaming profiles. Perhaps in another blog post.
To prevent any harm or deletion of the User profile, Windows comes with an in-built copy tool. You can use it to copy, move or delete a user profile. Thus, in order to copy a user profile to another hard drive, computer, or user, you can go with the following method.
When using roaming user profiles, a copy of the profile is downloaded from the server to the Windows domain member when a user logs into. Until the user logs out, all settings are stored and updated in the local copy. During the log out, the profile is uploaded to the server.

This worked! I work in a domain environment and I deleted the windows 7 profile from Registry, but was unable to rename the users profile. I had to decimate the profile to get it renamed so we could create a new profile to fix her errors.

Windows 10 stores user account data under a profile. We want the AAD account to be a copy of the local account profile. I use a donation-based tool called User Profile Wizard from a company called Forensit to do just that! A corporate license option for the User Profile Wizard with more features is also available.

Issues With ProfilesIMPORTANT: All the information regarding profiles is stored in the registryfile. The registry file gets created even if you have used earlier versionsof Mozilla (Apprunner). When you check out a new build, make sure you delete or renamethe following items before you install, build, and run the new executable:
Windows mozregistry.dat ( c:\winnt or c:\windows or equivalent),
Mac OS Mozilla Registry (System Folder:Preferences),
Linux registry (/.mozilla/)
You open Profile Manager withthe command line argument : -ProfileManager. The Profile Manager user interfaceappears, supporting creating a new profile, and deleting and renaming existingprofiles. When you finish any of the tasks you can click Exit to quit theProfile Manager. You can click a Start Communicator button to start Mozillawith a selected profile. Also, users can migrate 4.5 Communicator profiles(Windows only, for now).
Various command line options to create and manage profiles are:
# mozilla -P Runs Mozilla with the .# mozilla -CreateProfile " "Creates a profile (i.e., ) and creates a directoryat the specified location i.e., and launches Mozilla.# mozilla -CreateProfile Creates a profile and creates a profile directory under defaultprofile location.# mozilla -ProfileWizardLaunches the Create Profile Wizard to create a new profile. The Create Profile Wizard lets users create a new profile at the defaultlocation or the location of their choice. At the end of the process a profileis created and marked as the current profile, and Mozilla is launchedwith that profile. The wizard is currently just two screens. Mail and Newsrelated preferences/information will be collected by a different application.# mozilla -ProfileManagerBrings up Profile Manager for managing profiles. Users canselect a profile and click on the Start Communicator button to launch Mozillawith the chosen profile. The current profile (usually the last used profile)appears preselected.# mozillaSeveral scenarios: number of profiles = 0 --> Brings up Create Profile Wizard number of profiles = 1 --> Launches Mozilla directlywith that profile number of profiles > 1 --> Brings up Profile ManagerDefault profile locations for profile directories are \Users50, on Windows :Documents:Mozilla:Users50:on Mac OS, and /.mozilla on Linux.Profile Manager (Windows and Linux only): The Rename and Delete buttons are not working properly.
Profile Migration (on Windows only): 4.5 profiles now can be migrated to5.0. In the process of migration, 4.5 profile information is undisturbed. In 5.0 the new location for the migrated profiles is the default locationas mentioned in the above paragraph. Migration is functional on Windowsonly, but will soon be extended to the Mac OS. (A date for Linux availabilityis currently unknown.)
To migrate 4.5 profiles, run Mozilla with the command line option-installer.The profile to be migrated is listed as - migratein the Profile Manager's list box. Users can select a profile to be migratedand click on the Migrate button. If the migration is done successfully, the suffix ' - migrate' disappears in the display, marking that profileas a 5.0 profile. Currently, only the prefs.js file and mail and news foldersare copied in the migration process. Users cannot rename or start Communicatorwith a profile that must be migrated. With the changes that went in atthe end of M7, it is required to create a 5.0 profile before using themigration service. This will be fixed in M8 (so that there is no dependencyon having a 5.0 profile). 2ff7e9595c
